Responsibilities

  • The post holder will provide support to individuals with complex mental health needs who present in ‘crisis’ and who require intensive mental health care and treatment at home as an alternative to hospital admission.
  • The post holder will also work closely with inpatient services in an attempt to facilitate early discharge from hospital.
  • This role will be carried out under the supervision of a band 7 Crisis Team Leader, with whom you will participate in formal line management supervision.
  • You will be required to carry out ongoing assessment, including risk assessment, whilst liaising with and updating multiple stakeholders GPs, CMHT, MHAU, Specialist Services and 3rd sector organisations.
  • You will be expected to supervise the practice of junior members of staff and student nurses, whilst evaluating their practice, and providing line management supervision and carrying out annual appraisals.
  • The post holder will be required to operate within the legal and ethical national frameworks, whilst adhering to local, national and organisational policies and guidance relating to professional conduct, practice and contractual obligations.
