Responsibilities

  • - Act as a senior legal advisor in the provision of legal advice and support Bank of Ireland's online banking products for personal customers and related digital matters in the Republic of Ireland.
  • - Advise on all legal issues relating to the Bank's digital banking services for consumers including Banking 365; Business On Line; Mobile Apps and digital customer journeys; Artificial Intelligence, Financial Data Access, Data Protection, Digital Euro, Digital Accessibility, European Digital Identity Framework (e-ID regulation) including the following activities:
  • - Reviewing and approving customer facing documentation and communications;
  • - Advising and assisting with ongoing domestic and European regulatory requirements;
  • - Drafting and reviewing terms and conditions for financial products;
  • - Advising on customer complaints, fraud and financial abuse issues, regulatory investigations and inquiries.
  • - Advise on legal issues arising from the digitisation of customer journeys and related internal Group processes.
  • - Act as a senior advisor on issues relating to direct marketing and selling and providing services online.
  • - Support the legal integration of new customer propositions into the terms and conditions of products in the Bank's Retail Ireland Division which arise from changes in legislation or new products or services.
  • - Provide strategic advice and guidance on new products and initiatives produced as part of the Bank's technology transformation programme including in relation to the impact of new or existing regulatory and legal requirements on those developments.
  • - Advise on digital and customer experience issues arising from key strategic growth projects.
  • - Act as a senior advisor on initiatives in consumer banking that relate to environmental and sustainable growth.
  • - Advise from a legal and regulatory perspective on day to day issues relating to the Bank's online bank channels including fraud issues.
  • - Interact and forge customer service relationships with senior partners in Retail Ireland and the wider BOI Group in order to ensure excellence in the delivery of legal services.
  • - Provide tactical and strategic legal advice to the wider Bank Of Ireland Group on digital, data protection, data analytics, data accessibility, electronic marketing, and customer experience matters.
  • - Provide tactical and strategic legal advice in relation to issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, investigations and enforcement actions.
  • - Support legal and business colleagues dealing with personal customers to ensure that they can deliver on the Group's Customer Commitments by ensuring that legal advice is provided when required at all stages in the customer journey from product design and provision to the resolution of any issues that may arise.
  • - Act as an escalation point for the provision of legal support to other legal colleagues and business colleagues dealing with personal customers and products held by them on variety of issues encountered by business colleagues.
