Responsibilities

  • Traveling worldwide to install and configure new systems and networks as well as upgrade, maintain, and recap existing systems and networks, including all infrastructure and related components
  • Training in-country technical support personnel to perform Tier 0-1 troubleshooting and maintenance on parts of deployed systems, both in-country and remotely
  • Communicating with in-country personnel remotely, while not traveling, to troubleshoot and resolve Tier 2-4 issues and documenting issues and resolutions appropriately
  • Working with network management personnel on integration issues to maximize system performance
  • Designing and updating in-country and worldwide satellite and communications architectures
  • Performing load analysis of systems and communications links to ensure the entire network is functioning properly and can support future expansion; evaluating performance and recommending improvements
  • Supporting and improving the processes and procedures needed to provide real-time technical support for deployed systems and networks and providing early warning for potential issues
  • Interfacing with third party vendors for monitoring, troubleshooting, tracking, and resolving issues and preventing potential future issues
  • Working with quality assurance/testing personnel to define acceptance criteria for each release cycle and testing communications systems as needed
  • Preparing and presenting briefings to the Sponsor as required
