  • To be successful you will have:
  • Demonstrable experience of providing a customer-focused service with proven experience of office administration.
  • Proven experience of maintaining webpages, databases and using Virtual Learning Environments (or willingness to learn).
  • Excellent IT skills. Able to use MS office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) to a high standard
  • Experience of prioritising tasks and independently managing a busy workload to ensure deadlines are met
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including accurate grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Creative approach to problem-solving

Responsibilities

  • Be first point of contact for student enquiries and providing appropriate advice and support. Monitoring two shared inboxes and a direct inbox regularly to deal with queries in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with relevant teaching staff to clearly identify and articulate the assessments for each module and the required standards, including agreeing submission deadlines and target dates for feedback to students.
  • Monitor student submissions and follow up on relevant issues, escalating as necessary e.g. late submissions, changes to deadlines, problems with assessments. Updating department tracker for discussion with Academic Tutor and Director of Studies.
  • Manage the organisation of project and presentation days. Scheduling time slots, creating marking reports and collating results under a tight deadline ahead of the exam boards.
  • Manage the departmental teaching website and AcaDiary, the departments assessment management system.
  • Responsible for managing exam paper printing in January, March, and May. Liaising with the print team to set deadlines, managing purchase orders, and working with the Finance team to ensure there is enough budget to cover costs.
