Responsibilities

  • Comparing and identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Prepare items for shipment (scan label, place on skid and identify the containers). Move shipments in the transportation unit with a forklift.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments; rejects damaged items; records shortages, and corresponds with the shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to appropriate departments, when applicable.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Maintains the integrity of all documentation and properly records the information according to departmental procedures.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned.
