Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Minimum of 2+ years experience as a Software Developer.
Strong communication skills.
Some experience managing and integrating systems from multiple vendors.
Experience with developing in Java, Hibernate, UML , Angular and J2EE concepts.
Experience with SQL .
Experience developing web-applications.
Understanding of the software development life cycle and willing to work within it.
Ability to manage projects independently.
Self-starter and motivated individual.
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences:
Experience in a medical/research setting.
Excellent communication skills.
Experience working in a team environment.
Willing to work long-term.
Data mining experience using Natural Language Processing ( NLP ) and/or machine learning.

Responsibilities

Develop software applications using Java, Angular/HTML5, and SQL Server/Hibernate.
Work on a team in a scrum/agile environment.
Follow departmental standards and procedures.
Meet with customers to gather requirements and capture/improve processes.
Document new requirements and design, or make changes to existing documentation in Confluence.
Provide support to customers on new/existing applications as the need arises.
Create test plans for code prior to release. (Or where a QA team is established, work with them to create test plans.)
Peer review and test other developer’s code changes.
Work with DBAs to make appropriate database changes.
Write SQL queries as needed to create reports for customers, or implement/test code changes.
Integrate with COTS systems as needed.
