What are the working hours for the Specialist Pharmacist position?
The AMU Pharmacy service operates between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week, and the post-holder will work a designated shift pattern that includes weekends.
Is there any scope for professional development in this role?
Yes, post-holders will be supported to undertake further professional or clinical developments in line with service needs, including completing a non-medical prescribing course.
Will I need to cover on-call shifts?
Yes, you will support the late night rota and/or the on-call rota on an average basis of one shift every three weeks.
What are the primary responsibilities of the Specialist Pharmacist?
Main responsibilities include deputising for the Senior Pharmacist, providing pharmaceutical care, acting as a role model in clinical pharmacy, supporting policy development for safe medicines use, and collaborating with other acute care staff.
Can I negotiate my shift pattern during the interview?
Yes, the shift pattern, including fixed compressed hours, is open to negotiation during the interview.
