  • 2. NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a comprehensive report and the MCFD supplemental report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • 3. Bachelor’s Degree in a Human Services field OR Bachelor’s Degree with a Major/Honors in a Human Services field OR Master’s level graduate Certificate/Diploma in a Human Services field AFTER the completion of an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 4. PLUS, a minimum of one year of related OR job-specific work experience.
  • 5. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • 6. NOTE: If this education was obtained outside of Canada, you need to confirm it has been assessed for equivalency through the International Credential Evaluation Services (ICES). You must provide a basic report by the closing date of this posting to be considered.
  • 7. Human Services fields include: Psychology, Sociology, Criminology, Anthropology, Early Childhood Education, Indigenous Studies, Education, Theology or Nursing.

  • 12. SAFE home study/Resource and Payment (RAP) experience and / or training.
  • 13. Experience using the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD) Integrated Case Management (ICM) and/or contracting administration.
  • 14. Must be eligible for up to C3 Delegation within the first 6 months of hiring.
  • 15. Applicants may be considered who have not yet graduated but have completed all required courses and are able to provide a letter from their educational institution confirming completion of degree requirements.

Responsibilities

  • 1. Gather and review information to assess prospective caregivers.
  • 2. Work independently, as well as in collaboration with district offices, to identify child safety risk factors.
  • 3. Produce written reports to summarize patterns or themes of concern.
  • 4. Work from a central location and communicate with caregivers by phone or online.
  • 5. Ensure the safety of caregivers for children in and out of care.
  • 6. Screen prospective caregivers to inform placement decision making.
  • 7. Work collaboratively with Child Protection and Resource workers in the field, as well as contracted agency staff.
