Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates hiring and selection processes by planning their beginning and end dates to align with academy schedules
  • Monitors the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the hiring process and makes adjustments when needed
  • Communicates regularly with applicants and other outside entities, including Human Resources and medical providers for scheduling and reporting processes
  • Facilitates and participates in panel interviews
  • Facilitates testing cycles for applicants and reevaluates components of the testing requirements as needed
  • Conducts thorough background investigation on applicants according to department, local, and state regulations
  • Schedules the opening and closing of hiring processes according to the position and departments needs
  • Plans, organizes, and coordinates ways to improve employee retention
  • Recommends recruiting and retention techniques for the purpose of maintaining adequate staffing
  • Evaluates ongoing progress of the selection process, recruitment activities, social media publications, and department goals to ensure departmental goals are being met
  • Knowledgeable of the current laws, regulations, and policies governing the hiring of licensed telecommunicators
  • Keeps accurate records of hiring and selection processes as required by internal policies, Local, State, Federal, and other regulatory agencies
  • Ensures completion of records, reports, and other information as required
  • Works with Williamson County Public Information Office (PIO) to create and distribute social media publications that promote the department
  • Participates in local recruiting events sponsored by various schools, businesses, and other state and local agencies
  • Supervises the Compliance Evaluator position and acts as their backup
  • Remains current and informed of the department’s written directives
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Assists with public education opportunities
  • Readily complies with departmental and county-wide policies and procedures
  • Attends meetings, conferences, and trainings as required to remain current on principles, practices, and new developments in assigned work areas
