What is the primary responsibility of a Sterile Services Technician?
The primary responsibility of a Sterile Services Technician is the decontamination of medical devices, which includes the safe collection, handling, preparation, sterilization, quality assurance, and distribution of surgical instruments.
What tasks will I be expected to perform?
You will be expected to collect and transport contaminated instruments, perform routine machine checks, disassemble and check instruments, manually pre-wash instruments, operate washer disinfectors and autoclaves, assemble and pack decontaminated instruments, and maintain accurate records.
Is previous experience required for this position?
Previous experience is beneficial but training will be provided to ensure you are familiar with all tasks and procedures.
What are the working hours for a Sterile Services Technician?
Working hours may vary, but you can expect to work shifts that align with the operational needs of the Sterile Services department.
