Responsibilities

  • Manages Logistic Information Systems (LIS) and Supply Department and Warehouse Operations.
  • Establishes and maintains effective coordination between the Systems and Supply Department, Army Sustainment Command (ASC), customer agencies, CONUS and OCONUS APS 2 suppliers, supporting APS 2 locations, and transportation and other support agencies to assure continuous effective supply support.
  • Skilled in implementation of developing procedural analysis, causal research, and implementing problem resolution for GCSS-A and supply wholesale and retail systems.
  • Establishes priorities for logistic support under conditions which impose constraints upon APS-2 Supply operations.
  • Establishes policies and procedures for the accumulation of data required for the preparation and submission on-time recurring reports.
  • Participates in briefings, conferences and meetings to support the Project Manager, and to fully and effectively accomplish the mission of the Supply Department.
  • Maintains daily contact with the Project Manager, other APS 2 operating elements and subordinate supervisors in the Supply Department to assist in the timely resolution of problems and to execute the administrative and operational functions that require attention.
  • Reviews all reports, submitted by the Supply Department, and sensitive or confidential management information data available from other sources that relate to the posture and performance of supply operations. Initiates corrective actions or revision of internal methods or procedures, in accordance with regulations, directives and guidance from higher authority, to resolve problems, simplify operations and increase the efficiency and responsiveness of supply operations.
  • Reports, with recommendations, to the General Manager all logistic requirements or operational problems that are beyond the existing capabilities or authority of the Department.
  • Supervises the preparation of appropriate general and detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in accordance with the APS 2 Performance Work Statement (PWS) that describes the general responsibilities and procedures within the various branches and sections of the Supply Department, the detailed methods and procedures required to give adequate guidance within the Supply Department to include guidance and instruction for all personnel assigned to specific functions.
  • Supervises and directs the activities of the Inventory Control team in the conduct of cyclic inventories, special inventories and location surveys.
  • Supervises and directs the activities of the APS 2 logistics systems’ functional analysts in the use, development and/or implementation of current and/or future automated supply and maintenance systems in use or being fielded for use by APS 2.
  • As required, travels Temporary Duty (TDY) within Germany and eastern Europe to include trips in support of exercises and real-world contingencies. Deploys on short notice throughout the EUCOM, USAREUR when required in support of U.S. military operations. This may require deployment to potential conflict areas and living in austere conditions.
