Responsibilities

  • The Sizewell C (SZC) project will have a significant requirement for temporary works, delivered across all portions of the project. The management of Temporary Works (TW) will be governed by a SZC overarching client procedure outlining how each organisation will discharge their duties in relation to the temporary works (refer to BS5975: 2019 clause 5.1.1.3). Each organisation will adopt their own procedures in accordance with the client procedure.
  • The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) will be responsible for delivery the civils scope across Earthworks and Enabling, Marine and Tunnelling and Main Civil Works sections. The CWA will deliver temporary works design in accordance with the SZC and CWA TW procedures through a combination of internal CWA and parent company design resource alongside framework suppliers.
  • The Temporary Works Design Manager will be required to establish and manage CWAs internal design capability and support the implementation of the temporary works design delivery framework with its parent companies and external suppliers. The design delivery is required to support both the pre-construction and delivery phases of the project technical lifecycle.
  • The establishment and management of the internal design delivery capability and the temporary works framework supports CWA-wide design delivery scope. The Temporary Works Design Manager will work alongside the Engineering and Assurance Leads and the section specific Temporary Works Managers and Coordinators to manage the delivery of the design scope in accordance with the works information and the TW procedure requirements.
