Responsibilities

  • To provide a link between the ward/departments, Therapy teams and the Clinical Education department
  • To support all learners and staff
  • Working clinically for 80% (minimum) of contracted hours in the clinical area
  • Working clinically alongside learners and staff to support development of clinical skills, achievement of competencies and facilitating theory/practice links
  • Be part of the development of malnutrition champions and help to deliver a malnutrition training programme
  • To carry out learner assessments in line with placement requirements when required
  • To assist with evaluation of training and education for learners when required
  • Disseminate education with regards to corporate and patient safety issues within the trust
  • To support the implementation of practice changes in response to identified corporate and patient safety issues
  • Ensure an environment conducive to learning is provided for all learners and staff
  • Foster a learning environment within the ward and departmental areas, ensuring staff are provided with opportunities to develop and update their clinical expertise in the support of learners and staff
  • To assist in the delivery of educational programmes to meet specific training needs
  • Ability to autonomously facilitate teaching for all learners within the remit of the Clinical Education team
  • Co-ordinate/assist in corporate training within the department
  • Network and establish links with other Clinical Educators in order to benchmark current practice and aid own and colleagues professional development
