What is the main purpose of the Trauma Risk Management (TRiM) role?
The main purpose of the TRiM role is to promote and coordinate the TRiM response for staff in Forensic services who experience traumatic incidents at work, ensuring timely support and follow-up to help mitigate the challenges of the work environment.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates are expected to have some form of relevant Professional registration, such as NMC or HCPC, along with experience in a mental health or forensic setting.
How is TRiM implemented after an incident?
TRiM is implemented by offering staff involved in an incident a TRiM conversation within 72 hours, with further follow-up as required to ensure their ongoing support.
What responsibilities does the TRiM Co-ordinator have regarding training?
The TRiM Co-ordinator is responsible for training new TRiM practitioners, providing refreshing training, and offering supervision to ensure the effective delivery of TRiM support.

This role has a strategic involvement in the development of Trauma-informed care practices and links TRiM activities with the Trust-wide staff support hub and other TRiM pilots.
