Lead the design for the track slab (resilient in-situ and/or standard slab) throughout the design and construction technical life cycles, working with the design and construction teams, the designers, client and stakeholders. Ensure the track slab design comply with the appropriate client’s standards applicable, including construction design management (CDM) regulations.
Responsible for the track slab design delivery for a high-speed contract, including integration of PW and any TW / temporary stages, integration of assurance and managing the delivery of the associated digital deliverables, in line with the construction and overall project programme, cost and client requirements. The track slab scope includes the development of resilient in situ and standard slab tracks. The design also involves integration of several types of S&C, and implies coordination with CMS, other rail system elements as well as with the civil works designs.
The candidate will be responsible for coordinating the Designer and the supply chain inputs needed to achieve an efficient and compliant design for these elements. Manage the input from rail specialists, other design disciplines and N&V specialist in their area (in situ and/or standard slab), making sure that the design complies with the client’s Environmental Minimum Requirements.
Close liaison with the Designer to ensure the design delivery on time, optimized and in accordance with the client’s requirements is essential. Requires working closely with supply chain providing the track elements, the client’s subject matter experts and other contractors.
