Responsibilities

  • To welcome patients to the unit.
  • To meet patients who attend the appointments office, and deal directly with their query, or seek assistance if required.
  • To assist a whole range of disciplines of staff who call in the appointments office with queries. This may be direct help or giving directions to obtain assistance from the appropriate person.
  • To prepare daily appointment lists for Pathology, Cardiology, Dermatology and Radiology.
  • To comply with Trust and Departmental procedures. Fire and Health and Safety.
  • To comply with the “system of work” for the controlled areas of the department.
  • Help collate the monthly waiting times and data required for reporting.
  • Open and sort post.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and paperwork is stored correctly in line with clinical governance guidelines.
  • To ensure patient confidentiality is always maintained.
