Responsibilities

  • Collate information from various sources, including communications with agencies and stakeholders, to establish baseline conditions
  • Assist with wildlife surveys, including reptiles, amphibians, bats, birds, terrestrial crayfish, fisheries and Species at Risk (SAR)
  • Support vegetation and wetland surveys, including Ecological Land Classification (ELC) mapping, Ontario Wetland Evaluation System surveys, species taxonomy, and rare plant identification
  • Data management, processing and interpretation of field results to assess for presence of SAR, significant natural heritage features, and other environmental considerations
  • Work with other technical staff and project managers to provide input to natural heritage assessments, inventories and impact assessments, technical correspondence, Endangered Species Act permitting and registrations, and project reports
