Requirements

  • Pursuit of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Understanding of basic engineering theories and principles, including an understanding of basic practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations, and preparing and presenting recommendations.
  • Ability to work in design teams is self-motivated to perform assigned tasks, and take the initiative to learn new topics.
  • Must have a strong command of the English language; experience and demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present information, facilitate meetings and provide direction to others.
  • The candidate is interested in consulting engineering and the electric utility industry.
  • Candidate must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship.
  • Successful completion of junior-level courses in power system analysis and/or power system protection is a plus.
  • Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for the successful completion of tasks.
  • Prior internship and/or related engineering experience is a plus.
  • Students who have passed or are scheduled to take the FE/EIT exam will be strongly considered for this position.
  • Exposure to Electrical Power System Analysis using one of the following software packages – CYME, Milsoft, Synergi, PSCAD, or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities will include supervised support in the detailed design of source to POI medium to extra high voltage collector systems and substations and associated BESS, solar, and wind infrastructure, including one-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, Protective Relaying, Power System Planning Studies, Design Studies, Logic and Control Systems, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and substation physical layouts.
