We have a unique opportunity in our Water Transmission and Utilities group! Our interns bring a fresh perspective and new energy to our teams. As a Freese and Nichols intern, you will learn and grow on real projects and be mentored by our amazing professionals. This opportunity is in our Charlotte, NC office and is NOT virtual. This is a great opportunity for a student to get experience in a dynamic and growing engineering consulting firm. Relocation and housing are NOT provided for these positions.

About Water Transmission & Utilities: Provides engineering and management support for water pumping and pipeline systems - pump stations, pumps, pipelines, utilities, tanks, and valve facilities. Engineering support for all phases of a project lifecycle: planning/studies, design, procurement, construction, and post-construction.

Majors we hire:

  • Civil/Environmental/Water Resource Engineering
  • Biological and Agricultural/Biosystems Engineering


  • Current student pursuing a BS or MS degree in one of the majors listed above
  • Graduation date of August 2024 or later
  • Preferred Qulaifications:
  • Experience with Excel, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, AutoCAD, or GIS
  • Student organizational involvement
