What are the available placement dates?
The available placement dates are during the weeks of 27th January, 24th February, and 24th March 2025.
Who is eligible to apply for the Work Experience Placement?
To be eligible, applicants must be in Year 10/S4 or above, have a valid passport, and be in full-time education in school or college.
Do I need to provide a consent letter from school?
Yes, if successful in your application, you will be required to provide a school consent letter to permit your absence from school/college.
Can I apply for more than one work experience placement?
No, you can only apply for one programme and cannot complete more than one work experience placement.
What are the qualities you are looking for in applications?
We are looking for a professional and positive attitude, passion for engineering and the airline industry, good communication skills, and strong organization and prioritization skills.
Is there an opportunity for further development after completing the work experience?
Yes, participants can apply for the Inspire Student Ambassador Programme after completing the work experience, which helps develop confidence, work readiness, and employability skills.
How can I apply for the placement?
To apply, register on the student platform Speedbird-Z, complete the 'Intro to….' task for Engineering, and then apply via the British Airways careers website, uploading the project from the task as part of your application.
