What type of posts are available for the Dietitian role?
There is a 1.0wte permanent post (rotational) and a 1.0wte 12-month fixed-term post (maternity leave cover) available.
Where will the Dietitian be working?
The Dietitian will work across three hospital bases: the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton, The James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough, and community services in the Redcar and Cleveland community locality and the Hambleton & Richmond community locality.
Is travel required for this position?
Yes, due to the nature of some rotations, the postholder will need to be able to travel across the South Tees and Hambleton and Richmondshire localities.
What kind of experience will the Band 5 rotational posts provide?
The rotational posts offer experience in a broad range of specialties including stroke, surgery, neurology, cardiology, general and respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, oncology, older people’s medicine, and spinal injuries, as well as community nutrition support, diabetes, enteral feeding, gastroenterology, and pediatrics.
Are there opportunities for professional development?
Yes, staff are encouraged to get involved in exploring new ways of working and service developments, with opportunities for continued professional development (CPD) along the way.
Will the Dietitian be involved in training others?
Yes, after 6 months and following clinical supervisory skills training, the postholder will be fully involved in the training of student Dietitians.
What training will new staff receive?
New staff will participate in the Leadership and Improvement programme, which includes training sessions on leadership impact, leading teams to success, and service improvement skills.
Is accommodation available for this position?
Yes, hospital accommodation may be available on the James Cook University Hospital site in Middlesbrough, should it be required.
