Responsibilities

  • Completion of hydrologic and hydraulic calculations
  • Preparation of preliminary and detailed designs of stormwater and runoff conveyance systems, including stormwater management
  • Working understanding and continued development in the application of design standards including MECP, Ontario Drainage Act and local development standards
  • Coordination of regulatory approvals for projects including local conservation authorities, MECP, DFO, MNRF and others
  • Coordination with utility agencies to support projects
  • Mentor and support young staff in their career development (depending on experience level), as well as receive mentoring and support for your own development
  • Preparation of engineering proposal submissions
  • Preparation of written reports under the Ontario Drainage Act
  • Undertake business development activities to assist the Drainage Practice Lead with expanding drainage and stormwater client base, and projects. Previous drainage work experience with local clients an asset
  • Review and ensure quality designs are submitted to the clients (depending on experience level)
  • Preparation of tender packages and project cost estimates
  • Contract administration and/or construction inspection including review of shop drawings
  • Assist with delivery of other civil projects supporting our Land Development, Structural, Linear or Water/Wastewater design teams, as required
