What is the main focus of the Junior Training Fellow in Diabetes position?
The main focus is to work with the diabetes/general medicine and endocrinology team to provide diabetes and endocrinology/general medicine services to a catchment population across Staffordshire, Leek Moorlands, and North Shropshire.
What type of patients will I be managing in this role?
The post-holder will be responsible for the day-to-day management of patients on the diabetes & endocrinology/general medicine wards, many of whom will have acute metabolic diseases.
Will I be working alone or part of a team?
You will be part of a Diabetes and Endocrinology team made up of 8 Consultants and will work alongside another Junior Doctor and a consultant who provides cover for the ward.
Is out-of-hours work required in this position?
Yes, participation in out-of-hours work and weekend ward rounds is required as part of this post.
