Responsibilities

  • This role is to directly support the Anatomical Pathology Technologist (APT) team throughout the mortuary process, including providing high quality care to deceased and bereaved people.
  • You will undertake a range of administrative and non-invasive clinical duties in the mortuary office, deceased reception area and autopsy suites, liaising with coroner’s officers, undertakers, other professionals and members of the public who may be distressed.
  • You will be expected to join the mortuary on-call rota, performing non-invasive clinical duties alongside the APT team, for which standby and call-out payments will apply. The on-call rota is currently 1 week in 3.
  • Once in post, you will be expected to achieve the Level 2 Certificate in Mortuary Support qualification, for which funding and support will be provided.
