What hospitals will I be rotating through as a Rotational Physiotherapist?
You will be rotating through three main acute hospital sites: William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, Kent & Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury, and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Hospital in Margate.
Are students allowed to apply for this position?
Yes, applications from students in their final year of study are welcome.
What will my responsibilities be as a Band 5 Physiotherapist?
As a Band 5 Physiotherapist, you will be expected to assess and treat patients, develop physiotherapy treatment plans, undertake respiratory on-call competency training, work within a multidisciplinary environment, support clinical supervision of Therapy Assistants and Students, and actively participate in the wider therapy and AHP team.
Will I receive support during my first year of employment?
Yes, upon joining, you will be supported through your preceptorship year with regular clinical supervision, band 5 peer support sessions, and mentorship from a senior clinical lead.
Do you provide continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities?
Yes, we offer CPD support and learning opportunities across all specialties, including respiratory on-call competencies, a robust stroke and neurology teaching programme, regular MSK teaching, and rotation-specific in-service training programmes.
What kind of experience will I gain from this rotation program?
You will gain experience across a broad range of clinical specialties, including critical care, general and specialist surgery, trauma, elective orthopaedics, musculoskeletal outpatients, hand therapy, stroke rehabilitation, inpatient neurorehabilitation, and more.
Is there a research component to the role?
Yes, we encourage all staff to be research active and offer opportunities to be involved in clinical audit, service improvement, and innovation.
What should I do if I require a Certificate of Sponsorship to work in the UK?
If you require a Certificate of Sponsorship, you must declare this on your application form, even if you currently have a certificate of sponsorship or a work permit for another role.
