Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement and manage employee benefits programs and initiatives, including medical, dental, vision, commuter, tuition, wellness, FSA, HSA, STD, LTD, Life & AD&D, 401(k) and other perks for all locations including US, Ireland, UK, and Canada.
  • Research industry trends and benchmark benefits offerings regularly. Use data-driven recommendations for plan design and cost structure changes to maintain competitiveness in the market.
  • Conduct budgeting and financial analysis of employee benefits programs. Monitor high cost claims and address problem claim areas. Ensure adequate estimates, forecasts, and calculations of expenditures in benefits for budget planning and tracking.
  • Partner with external brokers and carriers to manage relationships, negotiate renewals with benefits providers, negotiate contracts, and monitor service levels to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
  • Analyze employee enrollment, utilization, needs and preferences through surveys and feedback mechanisms to tailor benefits packages accordingly.
  • Remain current on benefits best practices, trends, and changing legal landscape to assess potential impact/risk to the business and recommend solutions to address compliance and mitigate risk.
  • Manage open enrollment and program renewals, including partnering with HRIS to ensure data accuracy of file feeds, and with internal communications for event planning and communication strategy (wellness/benefits fair, flu shot clinic, nutrition counseling, etc.).
  • Collect and audit data for compliance reporting/testing across the benefit function including but not limited to; 5500 Health & Welfare & 401k, 401k Audit, SAR Distribution & True-up, Non Discrimination Testing - HSA/FSA & 401k, HIRD & CMS Disclosure, Medicare Part D Disclosure and ACA Reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory filings and reporting requirements. Process administrative forms, reports and audits accurately, timely, and in compliance with relevant local, state, federal, and provincial regulations.
  • Handle employee inquiries and provide guidance on benefits-related matters, serving as an escalation point and subject matter expert. Educate and mentor HR team members to guide them in their communications with employees regarding benefits and perks.
  • Develop and deliver employee communications regarding benefits programs and manage tools for employees to be well informed of their benefits.
  • Oversee the administration of leave and ADA programs and collaborate with the HX team and Legal team on escalations and special circumstances.
  • Partner with HRIS, Payroll, People Operations and vendors to manage all systems and technology supporting benefits programs and perks.
