Responsibilities

  • To receive external/internal calls and redirect as necessary.
  • In the case of an emergency fire call, the operator will follow set procedures making sure all relevant emergency staff are informed acting as liaison between the hospital and emergency services.
  • To operate the internal bleep system which includes programming the bleeps and distributing to new doctors giving guidance to staff on usage.
  • To operate the radio system and liaise with the appropriate personnel.
  • To respond to attack alarms activated on the hospital site reporting alarms quickly to security.
  • Monitoring Clinical Alarms across the hospital site and if activated, escalate to the Manager / Director on call.
  • Activate a weekly "test" of the Cardiac Arrest call, using the bleep system.
