 About the role
 Faculty’s in-house legal team works to proactively address legal issues so that Faculty can drive positive impact in the world. In many cases, there will be no precedent. This is one of those rare in-house roles where your work will often be at the cutting edge.
 As Legal Counsel, you will be a key contributor to both the legal team and the company as a whole - working across every issue Faculty faces. You'll provide sage advice on a wide range of legal issues, with a centre of gravity around commercial &amp; public sector contracts, IP &amp; licensing and privacy.
 This position is ideal for an ambitious lawyer with experience in private practice at a leading law firm and looking for their first in-house role, or for someone seeking a new in-house role, having come from that background.
 As the third lawyer in the team, you will be reporting to the Senior Legal Counsel, and working closely with our General Counsel, Senior Legal &amp; Compliance Manager, Legal &amp; Compliance Associate, and out legal and regulatory consultants and external lawyers, as well as other Faculty staff, and technical and commercial partners.
 What you’ll be doing - Core 
 <ul>
 <li>Commercial Contracting: Drafting and negotiating various technology and services contracts, public sector agreements and handling multi-party complex negotiations with enterprise organisations (and their US/magic circle external counsel).</li>
 <li>IP: Act as subject matter expert in IP matters related to AI services, including assignments, licensing, SaaS, sub-contracting, joint ventures, and IP-related to the Frontier product.</li>
 <li>Public Sector Procurement: familiar with UK Government procurement processes, application to frameworks, supporting bids, contracting on government and other large scale, complex frameworks, including GCloud, and Digital Outcomes amongst many. Good grasp of the Procurement Act, especially as it relates to tech contracts.</li>
 </ul>
 Privacy: Strong working knowledge of GDPR, with hands-on experience of core internal compliance requirements, article 28 DPAs and conducting DPIAs

About the role

Working in our Office of the CEO and with our Strategic Operations Lead, this position acts as a vital cog-in-the-machine for us being able to deliver Faculty's mission of transforming organisations performance through safe, impactful and human-led AI.

This role offers the unique opportunity to directly support our CEO with his daily tasks and commitments by expertly managing his diary, travel, expenses, and all other associated administrative tasks.




What you’ll be doing

As part of your day-to-day job, you can expect your key responsibilities to include:




Collaboration with the CEO

 * Work to quickly establish a strong working relationship with the CEO
 * Seek to understand their professional and personal needs, requirements, priorities and objectives of his daily work

 * Review and manage their diary and email communications, prioritising where appropriate

 As a Product Designer you will be responsible for the end-to-end user centred design process within the government services. You’ll be collaborating with user researchers and engagement managers to run discovery sessions with the clients; translating your findings into customer and user needs and solution ideas, and creating technically meaningful content to communicate those with the wider team and internal and external stakeholders. This work will enable the development of cutting-edge, safe and robustly deployable AI technology in critical government contexts to be used by the civil servants.
 As part of the Product-focused digital service, you will be responsible for helping customers make better decisions through features that help them unlock a deeper understanding of their processes, leading to rapidly converting analysis to action, and connecting the Government's services. You’ll help us achieve that goal by identifying customer needs and designing delightful experiences that help our customers make better decisions.
