  • Previous experience, whether academic or through internships, in broadcasting, reporting, or writing news content

  • Majors in Journalism or Political Science
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year preferred
  • Major or previous coursework in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
  • Must be able to work on-site in Washington, DC and have reliable transportation to/from work
  • Candidate must be available to work 32 hours/week (Thursday – Sunday) in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends and possible overnights

Responsibilities

  • Generating and communicating ideas in editorial pitch meetings
  • Conducting background research for headline interviews and roundtable segments
  • Transcribing prerecorded interviews
  • Assisting in the production of the live show on Sunday mornings, including guest greeting
  • Publishing digital stories summarizing headline interviews post-show
