Requirements

  • Successful candidates will demonstrate a knowledge of and active participation in social media as a news tool.
  • Passion for sports and a strong interest in storytelling.
  • Experience creating written, audio and/or video content.
  • Interest in sport that appeals to an international audience such as soccer, cricket, Formula 1, golf, tennis, athletics, cycling and more.
  • Proficient with Adobe Premiere (or similar) video editing software.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

Responsibilities

  • Assist our sports newsgathering team by watching events and press conferences, then alerting key moments and soundbites for the network to use on linear and digital platforms.
  • Monitor social media for daily news reactions, statements, and fresh video elements.
  • Provide support to the CNN World Sport show team by creating graphic elements, transcribing interviews, researching stories, and gathering video elements for edit.
  • Coordinate daily game recordings by monitoring video quality and router sources.
  • Copyedit anchor scripts and network banners.
  • Assist with basic administrative and production tasks.
