Description

  • Phoenix-based SRP, the nation's third-largest public power and water utility, is recruiting for a college student to work part-time on its Corporate Audit Services team.
  • Corporate Audit Services partners with SRP's Board of Directors and management to proactively address the changing business environment. We are committed to understanding and satisfying our customers' needs and expectations at every possible opportunity. We pride ourselves in our ability to maintain strong, collaborative relationships with our customers. Together with our customers, we aggressively work at maintaining open communication, and providing objective reviews with valuable insight and recommendations. 
  • This part-time position includes a variety of work assignments from audit support activities to involvement in the actual phases of planning, fieldwork, and reporting in an audit. It is anticipated students will be required to work a minimum of 15 hours per week, with more hours available based upon schedules.
  • The selected candidate will be involved in both technical and non-technical tasks. Activities will allow for work to be completed individually as well as in a team environment with opportunity for collaboration with other departments within SRP

Requirements

  • Preferred skills include familiarity with the following:

  • Frameworks such as IPPF, COBIT, NIST
  • Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Auditing Standards

Responsibilities

  • Technical activities may include:
  • Work with internal audit team members completing tasks relating to audit projects including performing risk assessments
  • Assist in updating and creating data analytics reports using analytical and presentation software
  • Utilize risk assessment tools to assess levels of risk and designing audit procedures to fulfill objectives
  • Performing audit procedures, including interviews, observations, inspections, utilizing sampling methods, re-performance of controls, and attribute testing)
  • Assist in the development of conclusions and reporting of audit results
  • Non-Technical tasks may include:
  • Assist in maintaining and organizing audit tools and templates
  • Update and identify areas for improvement within department processes
  • Assist in audit process administration and status reporting
