What kind of training does CNA provide for Underwriting Trainees?
CNA’s Underwriting Trainee Program offers a combination of instructor-led training, testing, self-study courses, web-based training, technical training, and practical application. Trainees receive instruction in insurance basics, underwriting, sales and marketing skills, and can expect exposure to various lines of business and industry segments through a formal mentoring program.
What educational background is preferred for applicants?
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 is strongly preferred; however, equivalent experience will also be considered.

Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to developing knowledge in underwriting, strong sales aptitude, effective analytical and problem-solving skills, good verbal and written communication abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and the capacity to influence and develop positive business relationships.

What responsibilities will Underwriting Trainees have during their training?
Underwriting Trainees will evaluate businesses by reviewing industry, business, and government data to assess risks, decide whether to accept or decline those risks, and maintain a steady flow of new and renewal business. They will also interact with senior leadership and gain exposure to critical enterprise-wide support functions.
