The primary responsibility of an Image Science Engineer Intern is to provide image expertise in support of developing analytical processes and tools, as well as assessing image quality impacts associated with the collection and processing of digital imagery for dissemination, archival, exploitation, and display.
What are the essential functions of this role?
Essential functions include conducting image/product quality analysis throughout the TCPED chain, assessing image processing routines and algorithms for remote sensing systems, investigating and providing solutions to complex engineering and quality control problems, and authoring technical documents and presentations.
What qualifications are required for this internship?
A Bachelor’s Degree in Imaging Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or an equivalent field is required, along with proficiency in written and verbal communication and experience in data and problem analysis.
What additional skills are preferred for this position?
Preferred additional skills include an understanding of image processing techniques, knowledge of ground processing architectures, experience as a technical contributor, programming ability in Python, C, C++, or MATLAB, and exposure to Advanced Geospatial Intelligence (AGI).

Experience with ENVI/IDL programming, MATLAB, Python, UNIX-based scripting, and/or C++ programming is preferred.
