Responsibilities

  • Assist the operational excellence manufacturing engineering team with process monitoring/improvements using Lean-Six Sigma methodologies.
  • The Intern will be involved in the day-to-day activities of the team included aiding other departments as they relate to department projects. We expect the intern to gain an in-depth knowledge of the product and its associated processes, particularly the process activities in-which they will be directly involved. The intern will have opportunities to assist in nearly all aspects of the workflow.
  • Execute engineering studies on production process including waste walks, process mapping, and cycle time studies.
  • Create detailed cost/benefit analysis against project proposals.
  • Perform fixture development studies such as DOE to determine critical input parameters against specific output requirements.
  • Utilize data analysis tools such as Excel and/or Minitab to create practical conclusions from numeric data.
  • Summarize findings and create presentations to inform reviewers/team members of suggested improvements.
  • Initiate Change orders for experimental validations, process improvements, and/or Fixture IQ/OQ/PQ.
  • Requires Enthusiasm, motivation, initiative and ability to work within an interactive and energetic workplace.
