Responsibilities

  • Contributing directly to sales and margin goals in assigned category.
  • Analyzing profit and loss information for the category, develop sales and margin projections, and assist Category Manager in P&L reconciliation.
  • Analyzing relevant data and incorporate findings and recommendations into Category Plans (i.e., optimal SKU mix; ExtraCare loyalty program; promotional programs) for merchandising programs.
  • Driving tactical execution of day-to-day plan activities (e.g., builds off-shelf plans, track promotional period, and perform post appraisal to take corrective action if necessary).
  • Collaborating with an internal team of CVS professionals in Inventory, Pricing, Promotion, Finance, Store Brands, Store Design, and Store Operations.
  • Analyzing sales records and inventory levels of current stock; seek new, alternative foreign and domestic suppliers.
  • Developing and maintaining a strong understanding of current competition; searches out new competitive opportunities and makes recommendations.
  • Keeping abreast of changes in the market. Research customer product preferences, supplier prices and the competitive environment.
  • Exploring and explaining trends in sales, assortment, and customer behavior over time and analyze its implications on retail strategy.
  • Identifying opportunities within pricing, promotion, and assortment to help meet sales and margin goals.
