Responsibilities

  • Perform scoping and planning activities for UAS missions that NDOT will perform using various data sources, including Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) data sources, NDOT GIS system data, external websites, and applications.
  • Assist NDOT personnel on UAS missions on construction sites, highway corridors/bridges, and environmental sites.
  • Review project site survey and update as needed.
  • Traverse project area for data acquisition and laying out aerial control data.
  • Perform visual observer role on a UAS team.
  • Potentially perform remote pilot in command duties depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Process UAS obtained data into deliverables including ortho mosaics and point cloud data.
  • Organize data obtained from UAS into NDOT’s system of record.
  • Assist NDOT’s UAS operation/maintenance lead on updating system logs with pertinent mission and aircraft data, performing system maintenance and reporting.
  • Assist NDOT UAS Program Manager with UAS Program administrative tasks.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
