What is the primary focus of the Physiotherapist role at Torbay Hospital?
The primary focus is to provide a high standard of trauma and orthopaedic physiotherapy service mainly to in-patients at Torbay Hospital and potentially to the wider Trust as required.
What is the work schedule for this position?
The postholder will work Monday to Friday on a regular basis and will also contribute to the weekend service.
Will I be working alone or as part of a team?
You will be part of a dynamic and friendly team consisting of a wide skill mix, working closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team (MDT) on the wards.
What types of areas will I work in?
You will work over the acute wards and in various areas according to service needs, including fracture clinic, support for day surgery patients, outlying trauma and orthopaedic patients, and paediatrics.
What kind of support will I receive in this role?
You will work alongside a team lead and receive senior leadership support for both the orthopaedic therapy and ward teams, alongside ongoing support for self and service development.
Will I have opportunities to educate and train others in the team?
Yes, you will be expected to educate and train physiotherapists, students, and other healthcare professionals in the management of chronic and acute conditions.
