What is the duration of the Junior Clinical Fellow position in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery?
The position is a full-time fixed term role for 3 months.
What responsibilities will the successful candidates have?
The candidates will primarily be responsible for looking after in-patients and emergency referrals, as well as assisting in emergency and elective theatre activity.
Will there be opportunities for teaching and research?
Yes, the role provides opportunities to contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and research at Warwick Medical School.
What types of cases will the candidates be exposed to?
Candidates may gain exposure to Craniomaxillofacial Trauma, Orthognathics, Temporomandibular joint surgery, head and neck surgery including reconstructive surgery, and thyroid surgery.
What is the on-call arrangement for the position?
The clinical sessions currently include a 1 in 6 covering UHCW NHS Trust on the first on-call resident shift rota.
Will the successful candidates be involved in professional supervision of other doctors?
Yes, candidates are expected to participate in the professional supervision and development of trainee doctors within the specialty.
What is the commitment regarding Clinical Governance?
Candidates are expected to demonstrate an understanding of Clinical Governance, Risk Management, and Clinical Audit, ensuring continued safe clinical practice.
