What are the primary responsibilities of a Lab Technician?
A Lab Technician performs laboratory tests to determine the chemical and physical characteristics or composition of materials, operates laboratory equipment, tests chemicals, records results, writes reports, cleans and maintains equipment, calibrates instruments, and prepares chemical solutions.
What qualifications are required for this position?
Candidates should have previous experience in a lab (either academic or industry) and a basic understanding of lab safety and procedures. Additionally, experience in a fast-paced environment and being detail-oriented are essential.
What type of laboratory equipment will I be using?
As a Lab Technician, you will operate equipment such as FTIRs, ICPs, balances/scales, spectrophotometers, gas chromatographs, colorimeters, and other laboratory instruments.
