Requirements

  • Collaboration – Working with internal product manufacturers including Asset Management and Capital Markets to ensure product shelf offering is sufficient and competitive, this work is carried out through new investment product review and approval process as well as periodical product shelf review.
  • Problem Solving – Acting as a consultant, project manager and lead on any strategic business initiatives which would impact distribution across different advisory platforms. This includes but is not limited to reviewing and approving customized products and trade exceptions and creating and managing the long-term strategy as it pertains to product shelf management.
  • Critical thinking – Apply critical thinking, creativity, and sound judgment to determine the best possible outcomes by utilizing data to support strategic decision making.
  • Relationship Management – You build strong relationships internally and externally. You understand the views of various stakeholders and facilitate problem solving to find the best solution for our clients, employees, and stakeholders.
  • Who you are
  • You have a minimum of 5 years of financial service experience. You have a strong knowledge of mutual funds and the industry, and a broad knowledge of investment products. An understanding of Morningstar Advisor, Morningstar Direct and Bloomberg is an asset.
  • You have a Undergraduate degree with a major/specialization in Business, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or Engineering
  • You’re a certified professional. CSC mandatory, CFA and/or CAIA considered a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • As the Senior Manager, Investment Products and Strategic Initiatives, you will support a multitude of functions including investment product research, delivering strategic initiatives and leveraging data and insights to make strategic recommendations to enhance the CIBC Imperial Investor Service platform, supporting our Imperial Service and Private Banking clients.
  • You will support the team to manage the Product Review committee mandate and conduct periodic industry and product specific analysis on Mutual Funds, Structured Notes and Market Linked GICs to ensure the CIBC Imperial Investor Service product shelf meets our mass affluent client needs. In addition, you will be heavily involved in the process of building and maintaining business intelligence/reporting capability (both regular and ad hoc) for the CIBC Imperial Investor Service business. You will also take a lead role in representing the business on various strategic business initiatives.
