Responsibilities

  • Provide direct leadership to the shipboard HR Team onboard our vessels
  • Select, hire, train and performance develop the HR team members on the ships and island, inclusive of Managers HR, HR Managers, Learning & Development Managers and Crew Engagement Managers.
  • Design and execute strategies to increase organization, team and individual performance to improve the business’s capabilities to deliver against its goals.
  • Analyze data, meeting notes and various information to assess trends, commonalities and issues to create recommendations for improved retention and the overall crew experience.
  • Provide expertise in the areas of leadership and team development, organization and crew effectiveness, and meeting design/facilitation
  • Project manage various crew initiatives and projects to ensure effective and efficient results.
  • Collaborate with ship and shore leadership on organization assessment and development concerns; provide recommendations and lead projects to drive strong organizational health.
  • Oversee the consistent adherence to company policy and guidelines and ensure a consistent discipline approach. Manage a fair and consistent approach to all employee investigations and disciplinary actions.
  • Provide leadership and guidance for day-to-day crew issues and employee relations cases.
  • Travel to locations to ensure quality standards and consistency across the fleet. Travel up to 25% of the time
  • In alignment with key partners, develop and drive a holistic strategy to drive crew welfare and DEI across the fleet
  • Deliver HR services to clients resulting in a seamless point of contact to the broader HR organization and ensuring successful integration of functional partner initiatives and expertise.
  • Leverage HR/business skills and knowledge to challenge or influence leadership in decision-making processes.
  • Assist with the broader implementation of HR initiatives and programs, including those in the areas of diversity & inclusion, learning and development, and workforce planning
  • Source, assess and develop the future leaders of the company in partnership with clients and key partners like recruitment and Learning and Development.
