Requirements

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience.

  • Ability to travel approximately 25-40% of the time to supplier locations (primarily domestic with the potential for some international)
  • Master’s degree in supply chain, business or technical field preferred
  • Meaningful experience working with suppliers
  • Commodity Management/Leadership experience
  • Delivery assurance experience
  • Experience organizing and implementing process improvement initiatives
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with a variety of commodities
  • Aerospace experience
  • Ability to craft clear communications, build positive relationships and strong follow up skills

Responsibilities

  • Acquire a vision of the big picture in order to identify and create operational solutions that will enhance our operational effectiveness and allow us to accomplish specific business objectives.
  • Support the development of a strong supplier quality focus by utilizing standard supplier and site quality improvement tools.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the products and the operational processes they go through.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to break functional, operational, & logistical barriers faced with getting products out the door.
  • Develop and/or modify operation's plans and develop and implement solutions with functional organizations to reveal and remove barriers toward business goals specific to the organization.
  • Gather feedback and benchmark and analyze various business processes to identify new improvement projects.
  • Support multiple projects and interact with several departments and various levels of leadership simultaneously.
  • Manage / assist with process improvement projects, prioritizes project work, and support the needs of our Lean operating system (ACE).
  • Utilize SAP and Microsoft Excel to support process improvement initiatives.
  • Travel expectation would be approximately 25-40% but can fluctuate depending on needs of the business.
