  • Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • Actively enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in engineering with a major in mechanical, electrical, industrial, industrial & systems, aerospace or aeronautical engineering or applied engineering sciences from an accredited institution
  • Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher (please do not round)
  • Currently located within 50-mile radius of Highland, IL with housing available through summer break

  • Completion of freshman year by the start of the internship
  • Prior internship or co-op experience
  • Experience using SolidWorks or Alternative 3D Modelling Software

  • Develop and test prototypes for new component ideas
  • Hands on testing of products, design validation, detail design, and drawing review

Responsibilities

  • Work in a cross-functional/multi-disciplinary team, making technology/engineering decisions for project on time execution
  • Support product design, and complete system/component modeling to meet specific requirements
  • Create CAD drawings, 3D models, assemblies, etc.
  • Support test plan development, including for 3rd party certifications, sample preparation, and data summary reports
  • Ensure deployment of standard engineering practices, assessing test results, and root cause analysis through test findings/failures
  • Prepare Design proposals and documentation required to define and control products
  • Participate in design reviews, both customer and internal as required
