Responsibilities

  • A student nurse intern is responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The intern must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and visitors. They must also be able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in the patient's condition or response to treatment. The intern may also perform unit clerical duties and computerized order entry procedures. The intern must maintain a professional demeanor and prioritize tasks as directed by the Charge Nurse.
  • Performs routine nursing procedures and tasks related to patients within assigned area under the supervision of a nurse.
  • Assists with patient care by providing or assisting with activities including but not limited to personal hygiene, grooming, feeding, providing fluids, mobility, and comfort.
