Requirements

  • Must be enrolled in a degree program at an accredited college/university rising undergraduate juniors or seniors, graduate students, or post-doctoral students and remain academically enrolled throughout the internship or must have previously graduated from college and enrolled in a continuing education program
  • Graduate student preferred; preference to students enrolled in a Master of Public Administration, Nursing, Public Policy, or Public Health program
  • Additional Requirements:
  • Regular and reliable job attendance
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Exhibit respect and understanding of others to maintain professional relationships
  • Independent judgement in evaluation options to make sound decisions
  • In office/open office environment with the ability to work effectively surrounded by moderate noise

Responsibilities

  • Apply strategic, analytical, and creative thinking to help recruit new members to a national coalition to champion nurses and health equity
  • Coordinate efforts of engaging nursing educators, employers, and their supporters to strengthen and diversity the nursing workforce
  • Engage in interpersonal communications strategies to advance these issues and the events organized as part of these efforts
  • Produce meeting minutes and digital products pertaining to public policies centered on nursing, consumers, and family caregivers
