The Wargaming Senior Analyst is responsible for the development, management, and delivery of wargaming within the Field Army, including coordinating all aspects of wargames and providing analysis and execution support.
Is travel required for these positions?
Yes, there is a regular requirement to travel, including overseas, to attend training exercises and courses.
What is the expected work environment?
The roles often involve working embedded within British Army formation Headquarters and may require deployment in field conditions, which can be austere at times.
Are there any fitness requirements for these positions?
Yes, candidates are required to maintain a basic level of fitness and pass a medical examination as part of the pre-deployment training standards.
What clearance is needed for these positions?
Candidates must have or attain Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
Will there be opportunities for training and development?
Yes, there will be opportunities to contribute to the development and sharing of operational analysis and wargaming best practices, including producing guidance documentation and training.
How much time is expected to be spent deployed versus desk-based?
For Senior Deployable Operational Analysts, approximately 35% of the time will be spent deployed on exercises/operations, while around 65% will be desk-based.
What kind of analytical methods will I be expected to use?
You will be expected to operate common analytical methods covering areas such as statistical modeling, data mining, analytics, and visualization.
