  • We are seeking an entry level project engineer to join our team of water and wastewater construction management professionals based out of our Richmond, Virginia office. This is an exciting opportunity to start your career and to learn how the engineering and construction industry works through hands on experience in construction project management, inspection, and program management for public utility projects.
  • This position reports directly to the Jacobs Project Manager, and is based in our Richmond, Virginia office. In this role, your primary responsibility will be serving as a project engineer for an established public utility Capital Improvements Program. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Draft construction work orders
  • review sewer inspection videos and assess existing site conditions to identify necessary sewer main, manhole and lateral repair and rehabilitation requirements,
  • review of construction plans for quantity takeoffs,
  • field investigation in support of construction project development,
  • construction plan development on ArcGIS and cost estimates with established unit price bid schedules using the Microsoft Office suite,
  • coordinate with City agencies, contractors, and third parties in the preparation of construction assignments,
  • support the construction team to ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved specifications and client quality standards,
  • prepare meeting agendas and meeting minutes, and
  • perform warranty inspections for completed projects.
