Responsibilities

  • This role is within the NCGI Geospatial Services for Defence (GSD) Hub, providing Defence-wide GEOINT dissemination in support of Defence readiness and responsiveness, including the ability and responsibility to deliver mission critical and/or Defence Intelligence operationally prioritised GEOINT data, including Foundation datasets and imagery. This involves the dissemination of authoritative web enabled GEOINT products, datasets and services via geospatial web services, applications, and portal websites on core Defence networks.
  • Geospatial Analysts will combine their understanding of the geospatial information environment with practitioner skills in geospatial analysis and dissemination against a broad range of datasets to deliver quality GEOINT products and services. They will work to meet customer requirements, within specific timeframes and to applicable standards. Outputs include web services, apps & portals, and visualisations such as Dashboards in support of the UK’s National and International intelligence requirements.
  • A Geospatial Analyst (GA) is knowledgeable and trained to produce, maintain, update and develop geospatial web services, tools, widgets & applications and undertake wider geospatial analysis tasks.
  • This role has no direct line management responsibilities or supervisory responsibilities.
