What type of services does the Healthcare Assistant role involve?
The Healthcare Assistant will work across an integrated service in contraception and sexual health, including STI screening, HIV & PreP clinics, contraceptive clinics, and support for young people and schools.
What are the working hours for this position?
The service is open Monday to Friday between 8am and 8pm, and the post holder will be required to work various shifts within these times with some degree of flexibility.
Is previous experience required for this position?
Yes, previous Healthcare Assistant experience within the NHS is essential, along with competency in venepuncture.
Are overseas applicants eligible for this position?
Unfortunately, applications from candidates that require current Skilled Worker sponsorship to work in the UK are ineligible to apply for this position.
What will be the main responsibilities of the Healthcare Assistant?
The main duties include chaperoning nurses and doctors during STI screenings, performing microscopy, assisting with coil fittings, taking patients' blood, and preparing and maintaining the clinical environment.
Is a DBS check required for this employment?
Yes, employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of.
