Responsibilities

  • You will work with the Design team within Personal Systems on projects like the following:
  • A research project centered around a hardware product that HP makes. There will be a research question that the intern will need to design a user study to answer, collect the data, analyze the data, and present the findings to the stakeholders. There will be adequate support from the Human Factors team.
  • In this internship, you'll play a key role as a production designer, collaborating closely with our lead UX designer on an unreleased software project. Your primary focus will be to translate established design direction into production-ready interfaces that our development team can utilize to begin implementation. As you work on these interfaces, you'll ensure that the designs align with our overall vision and meet the necessary specifications for development. If you have prior experience in prototyping, there may be additional opportunities for you to create comprehensive prototypes. These prototypes will serve not only as valuable tools for our UX research team during testing but also as reference points for the development team as they build out the software. This project offers an excellent chance to refine your design skills, contribute to a real-world application, and gain insights into the collaborative processes between design and development.
  • Support Senior Human Factors researchers and be assigned to a new product in development. Will independently conduct hardware and software usability testing and ergonomics evaluations for a product in development.
